Job Description:

The Bilingual Educator Performer will serve as an on-site/off-site ambassador for the Museum and its diverse audiences by providing exceptional informal education in Spanish and English. Using visitor focused discovery learning and performance techniques and Museum collections and resources. The Bilingual Educator Performer will deliver programs on a variety of topics and through a range of formats which may include or combine: demonstration, dissection, virtual engagement, direct instruction or theatrical performance.


This position will support and nurture relationships with students, families and teachers participating in our Partnership Programs; Urban Advantage and Passport to Health. You’ll be connecting through community, making a difference and bringing to life our mission; “Be a catalyst! Ignite our community’s passion for nature and science.”


The auction interview will be on July 26th from 8-12:30. There will be no alternative interview dates offered.

Essential Duties:

  • Assume an active role in creating a dynamic, visitor/participant focused and inclusive experience for program visitors/ participants.

  • Provide quality programming and dynamic delivery at Partnership Program events; evening and weekend Passport to Health (P2H) & Urban Advantage (UA) events (such as Family Science Nights, Family Fit Fests, Family Health Days and Family Science Days).

  • Impact and inspire visitors/participants through skillful engagement and accomplished educational practice.


Requirements:  ?

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree in science, education or related field preferred.

  • Fluent Bilingual Spanish/English required.

  • 1 years' experience teaching/education or performance required.

  • Valid Driver’s License with excellent driving record and dependable personal vehicle required.

  • Evening and weekend availability required.
