Essential Functions and Objectives:
Responsible for designing systems and structures to solve business problems, using a variety of approaches and methodologies.  Provides key data and information to inform key decision-making for priorities and project work cross functionally. Designs and continuously improves procedures, leads processes to identify and execute improvements and monitors district wide systems and goals. 
Responsible for leading strategic planning and performance management efforts within Leadership, Teaching and Learning (LTL) to help the district reach the Denver Plan 2020 goals. This includes facilitating the development of annual academic priorities, identifying milestones and performance metrics (i.e. leading and lagging indicators), and orchestrating performance management routines to monitor progress and generate solutions to challenges that arise in implementation.

Critical analysis: researches, strategizes and applies analytical methods to solve complex problems. Directs and develops research methodology used. Analyze systems, programs, datasets and reports to enhance the efficacy of district programs, processes, procedures, goals and objectives. Create metrics, examine data, interpret findings and extract insights. 
Stakeholder engagement: maintains proactive communication with key internal and external stakeholders; presents data and recommendations to practitioners, partners and district stakeholders in effort to reveal gaps and areas of improvement. Works closely with functional experts, provides mentorship and catalyzes strong collaboration among all resources involved.
- Collaborate with the Associate Chief of Academics to design the vision for the district improvement system through idea generation, document creation/revision and team strategic planning.                             
- Partner with the Accountability, Research, and Evaluation (ARE) department to support data analysis and reporting needs; reimagine how data trends and recommendations are shared with the end-user to make results more accessible and engaging (e.g., the use of data visualization and info-graphics).                     
- Lead strategic planning sessions with district stakeholders, including sessions to support the identification and development of annual academic priorities as well as departmental strategic plans.           
- Develop protocols and guidance documents to scaffold stakeholders’ thinking about their strategy and progress monitoring (e.g., milestones and leading indicators); facilitate engaging planning sessions.
- Generate monthly performance monitoring dashboard with implementation status updates on key district priorities.                                              
- Develop and support the scope and sequence for regular cross-functional meetings for senior leadership on district priorities; determine agendas and provide meeting facilitation and/or coordination to ensure maximum coordination and collaboration.                                                                            
- Prepare meeting participants for active participation in cross-functional meetings, including by supporting sponsors in their preparation of materials (e.g. implementation updates, problems of practice, performance dialogue decks) and providing supporting materials before and after meetings.
- Develop and sustain internal communications (e.g. stakeholder meetings) and external (e.g. Strategic District Improvement website) communications to advance district improvement work. 
- Collaborate deeply across numerous departments with varying levels of data, analytical and strategic planning expertise.             
- Oversee the implementation of performance dialogues to ensure timely and high quality execution and examine performance dialogues on a regular basis to identify opportunities for improvement.       
                                                               
Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
Required:
- Demonstrated experience developing systems and processes, including goal setting, data tracking systems to inform department and/or organization strategy and policy decisions, and development of monitoring and evaluation plans; demonstrated experience transforming vision into tangible projects that require working across organization levels and sensitivity to resources available.
- Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines.                                                                
- Strong attention to detail.                          
- Ability to communicate diplomatically, persuasively, effective oral, written and presentation skills.          
- Knowledge with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook.                                                  
- Work collaboratively with others on a team.                                        
- Aptitude for variety and changing expectations and fast-paced environment.                                                    
- Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with district and school leaders, faculty, staff and students.

- Ability to interpret complex and sensitive data and information into presentations promoting understanding for all audiences.                                                                          
 
Preferred:
- Training in quantitative analysis.
- Fluency in high level research tools and fluency with databases and data-gathering instruments, including the ability to clean, query, and manipulate data.                                                                     
- Ability to manage projects, including report writing and publication.                                                      
- Knowledge of pre-K to 12 education systems.
                                                                                
Education Requirements:
- Master's Degree in field in which research and/or evaluation training is required
