Denver Zoo's Animal Care Department has an opportunity for a Student Zookeeper Apprentice. This is a two-year on the job-training program intended to provide individuals in the Denver metropolitan area an opportunity to explore careers in the animal care field. The program is open to college students working towards an animal-related degree. Previous animal experience is not required. The student will rotate throughout all Animal Care work sections to develop skills at the zookeeper level in the exhibition, care and husbandry of a wide variety of animals. The minimal workweek for each apprentice will be sixteen (16) hours consisting of two full eight (8) hour days per week (including weekends).  Diverse Candidates are encouraged to apply!
